Live-a-Live Remastered, Pt 8 - Middle Ages

 

Not sure why it's so tough to finish off particular game serieses lately. Either way, this last chapter of LAL is particularly cool, and the only part of the game that gives us a "traditional" Medieval RPG setting.

Arceus returns with our hero standing in the rain getting pneumonia. This game has its moments.

Today on Arceus: More plains, more busywork. I still don't entirely know what to make of this game, but it's interesting.

This was the longest and dullest character scenario, outside of maybe the Prehistoric one. I'd have left it for last, but I'm doing them in chronological order. Either way, this chapter is kind of icky, like a chemical spill.

This might be the prettiest chapter, especially in this remake. Really good game here.

This game got a "best RPG" nomination at The Game Awards and it was well-deserved. Was surprising to see it pop up there and I'm glad it achieved some recognition.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005)

 

This sequel movie to FFVII is something I've been wanting to take another look at for ages. I watched it twice in the past: Once in Japanese when it first dropped, without subtitles. Then again in English once that version was out. I thought it was way better when I had no idea what anyone was saying or what was going on. That tells me the action in this is good, while the story isn't. We'll see on this third viewing. One thing is for sure, this probably wouldn't have tanked the company the way Spirits Within did.

Speaking of, spoilers within for FFVII, FFVII Remake, and pretty much anything else associated with this saga.

Highlander 4x14 - Deliverance

 

What I once thought was one of the apex episodes in the series... is STILL really good, even as not-into Evil Duncan as I am now. It's the 12th and mercifully final day of Christmas, and the last nod goes to Highlander.
