Batman Returns (Super NES, 1993)

This was, hands-down, the best Batman game ever made before the Arkham games started coming along in the past couple of years. In other words, this was the best Batman game in existence until the late 00's.

Tactics Ogre, Part 1 - March of the Lune Knights

In a word, it's vibrant

Change of pace today, as I'm looking at a PSP game. "Let Us Cling Together" is is a remake of Tactics Ogre for the Playstation, a game I have fond memories of from 1998 or so. What are my thoughts on this game so far? Read on to find out.

Metroid 2: Return of Samus (Game Boy, 1991)

It doesn't matter if you're black or white! Dunnn nun!

Previously on The Metroid Crusade, I covered Zero Mission. While that was the last 2D Metroid to be released (that's right, we haven't gotten a two dimensional Metroid game since 2004 as of September 2012), chronologically, it was intended as a retelling of the original Metroid. So now we jump back in time (our time) to move forward in Samus' time. Metroid 2 for the Game Boy is a continuation of the Alien-inspired bug hunt that takes Samus to the homeworld of the Metroids, SR-388. On a personal note, this was the second game I ever owned (after Kirby's Dream Land - man, you know you've written about a lot of stuff when you can continuously link to other posts in one paragraph). While KDL is a fun little gem, it's also a "baby's first action game" sort of platformer; Metroid 2 was the first game that really pulled me in and showed me that games could be deeper.
