Assassin's Creed Origins is really really cool ya'll. I'm a big fan of this series when they can stick to the fundamentals and avoid microtransactions / things like Facebook connectivity to Facebook Live or Facebook Just Collectin' Information or whatever. Also featured here: Assassin's Creed Odyssey. With new updates for 2019.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (Playstation 4, 2015)
Just finished this game and it was pretty fantastic. Not going to get too in-depth on it, but I took some shots.

Assassin's Creed: Unity (Playstation 4, 2014)
Today I'm looking at a modern game that has pleasantly surprised me. Assassin's Creed: Unity was released around six months ago and was poorly-received as a glitchy mess. After numerous patches and some free DLC, the game is a lot better off now than it was at release. This game takes place in scenic Paris, and it has never looked better in a video game.

Assassin's Creed 2 (Playstation 3, 2009)
And now we arrive at what has to be the best game in the entirety of this Three Decade Project. Yeah, that's right. I can say with a lot of confidence that out of a list that includes Mario 64, Metal Gear Solid, and other great games of their eras, this is the highest point. It isn't for everyone, and it isn't perfect, but it is incredibly well-done and short enough that it ends before any of the flaws have time to show themselves. This is probably why people didn't start noticing the flaws until the two (very, very similar) sequels. Well played, Ubisoft.

The Three Decade Project
For the next little while, I'm going to be embarking on a new project. I'll be doing a post for a game for every year that I've been alive, starting with 1983's Mario Bros. While some of these games are chosen for their historical significance (such as Super Mario 64), others are here because I needed an excuse to play them (such as Fable). Read on for the complete list.
