Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game (Sega 32X, 1995)

It's time to cover a classic fighting game with outlandish arcade-style action. Shawn looks so hip here. When I was a kid, I saw this game and went "Who are all those guys? Where are Hogan and Macho?" I saw the WWF New Generation as a bunch of midcarders, even when I wasn't watching wrestling yet. Even if I had been, the company itself did such a bad job passing any kind of torch from the old guard that most of the top New Generation guys WERE midcarders until they pulled themselves up by working against each other for several years.

Now I've got a much greater appreciation of this 1995 era of rasslin' and like it a lot, with Shawn Michaels being my favorite of the bunch. So now when I look at this game, I just go "where's Diesel?" ...because Diesel is strangely missing from this game, despite being the world champion for months when the game came out. They left Diesel out and included Doink? Was The Mountie not available?

Ranking All 40 Wrestlemanias

With Wrestlemania this weekend, and an even 40 in the books, it seemed like a good time to do a ranking.

Saturday Night Slam Masters (Arcade, 1993)

Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting!

Very Fist of the North Star looking artwork here on the Japanese cover art for the game. That's because this artwork was done by Tetsuo Hara, the legendary artist of... Fist of the North Star.

SATURDAY! SATURDAY!

Mighty Final Fight (NES, 1993)

This great little game is a spinoff of the Final Fight series, made exclusively for the NES well past the system's prime. It features chibi versions of the characters, a relatively lighthearted plot, and easier gameplay. I expected it to be a bit of a joke game and it ended up being a fun time. Only from Capcom!

Repost to join the others.

AEW Gif Collection

Today: A very special assortment of the finest AEW gifs from the past year. Crazy thing is, I probably only scratched the surface. Give this one a couple minutes to finish loading, turns out .gif files are pretty huge.

TNA Impact (Playstation 2, 2008)

Today I'm going to take a look at Impact Wrestling's one console game. It really surprises me that this game hasn't gotten any kind of follow-up in the six years since. The sales weren't terrible and while it got bad reviews, that has never stopped game companies from releasing follow-ups before. Besides, they could make more of these on the cheap by just copying and pasting all of the assets like game engine and crowd graphics and so forth. In any case, I don't know what to expect from this game, so let's jump in. NOTE: Now with video footage added in.

WCW/NWO Revenge (Nintendo 64, 1998)

Here's a game that I've never played before. It's critically acclaimed, and... heh, I like how Raven is just kinda hanging out. Goldberg and Hogan are at odds, and Nash is sorta on Hogan's side staring down Goldberg, but then you have Raven just... there. He isn't on either side, he simply Is. And he sees you. Yes, you, the one holding the box. Raven sees.

Wrestling Games

Today I'm going to do something that I haven't done since I took a look at Love Hina games: An ensemble post where I look at a number of different games. Originally it was going to be a post looking at one game in-depth, until I realized I can't actually beat any of these games. Let's have a look.
