Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones (NES, 1990)

This is BY FAR the toughest Double Dragon game. I mean, damn. They really overcorrected after the easier second game. This game is so hard that Nintendo Power's coverage of it is just a high-pitched scream.

Double Dragon II: The Revenge (NES, 1988)

This is it, Double Dragon TWO. The Reckoning. Does that make this Quadruple Dragon? .....I'll show myself out.

Prehistorik Man (Super NES, 1995)

Time for a BLAST FROM THE PAST. They made Game Boy and SNES versions of this game, but it's safe to say the SNES version is the one to play. While the Game Boy version has five levels, this one has 23. In other words, this is Prehistorik Man: Definitive Edition.

Been wanting to check it out for a while, so let's get a look at it.

Double Dragon (NES, 1988)

Time to check out one of the finest beat 'em ups on the NES. This game got the street fighting genre rolling on consoles. Later games like Final Fight and Streets of Rage would refine the formula, beating this series up and stealing its lunch money. For its time, though, Double Dragon was the trendsetter, the prototype. More on those other beat 'em ups at a later date, because right now we're goin' ham on the OG.

Highlander: The Series 3x19 - Mortal Sins

Today on Highlander: Not just a good episode, but a particularly significant one in terms of plot developments. This was also the highest-rated episode in the series up to this point in terms of TV ratings by a good margin. Though it'd be topped a few weeks later for "Finale" and then that'd be topped a bunch of times as it went on. The ratings really shot up during S3 and this is about when they hit their apex.

Magic Sword (Super NES, 1992)

Magic Sword is an arcade beat-em-up from early 90's Capcom. They went on to make other (better) medieval-themed beat-em-ups like Knights of the Round and King of Dragons, but this one was a good start. I played it in the arcade a couple times as a kid and it was fun, but I didn't get very far. The Super NES port is easier, so we'll see how I do.

Super Metroid - Ice/Wave Beam Only (2019 Run)

For this run I decided to try something a bit different than the usual speed run. It's the "2019 run" because I didn't do my usual Summer run last year, and have to make up for it.

Yakuza 5 Remastered - Boss Fights

Time for the next one. I seem to be covering all of the Yakuzas, as it turns out.

Virtua Fighter (Sega 32X, 1995)

Since I played the second game in the series, why not the first? Besides that I'll take any chance I can get to play something on the 32X.

Final Fantasy VII Remake, Part 4 - Neon Genesis

In this episode, we tool around in the slums. "AUGH" scream the flowers underfoot as Aerith clops over them with her work boots. I mean, she says she can understand the voices of all living things and the planet itself, so she should know this.

Doomsday Warrior (Super NES, 1992)

Today I'm looking at a particularly strange fighting game for the Super NES. It's going to be painful. This attempt at a hybrid of Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat may not have been fun to play, but it's ripe for a look. It's a port of the aptly-named Taiketsu!! Brass Numbers for the Super Famicom.

Arriving in Mintos, it's time for the next leg of the journey with our decidedly leg-less party. Will I defeat any God-Beasts in this episode? Maybe!
