Dragon Quest III #7 - Orpheus

Our heroes bring down the apocalypse by throwing a sword into a volcano, completely decimating an ecosystem. Dragon Quest III!

Dragon Quest III #5 - Angel Begins

The next goal is to collect a bunch of orbs. I believe there are six of them. The first is very simple to get... you talk to a prisoner in a jail. In this installment I hunt down the other five orbs and battle the dastardly Orochi, stopping only occasionally for four-ways.

Dragon Quest III #4 - Vintage Kandar

Angel gets his signature coat as I go shopping. In other news, this game is exponentially better than any actual Buffy game that has ever existed. Licensed games just can't catch a break.

Dragon Quest III #3 - Cadenza

I love healing springs in games like this. I could do lots of level-grinding here with all the free healing.

Dragon Warrior II (Game Boy Color, 2000) - Epilogue

I have unfinished business with Dragon Warrior II for the Game Boy Color. I asked around online to find out what the level cap was for this version, and couldn't get a straight answer anywhere. So I decided to find out for myself. Is it 50/50/50 like the Android remake or 50/45/35 like the NES original?

Dragon Quest III (Super Famicom, 1996)

The third game of the series got a bunch of remakes over the years, re-releasing on multiple systems. The original 1991 NES version is a classic, and it also got a Game Boy Color version later on that I want to take a look at. One remake that never saw the light of day in the U.S. is the 1996 Super Famicom version, and that's the version I'm playing for this installment. The visuals of this version were more or less repurposed for later phone versions of the game, as well as the phone versions of the first two. So we owe a lot to this one particular remake.

Dragon Warrior II (Game Boy Color, 2000) - A Side

Dragon Warrior 2, yet again. I missed out on playing this on the original NES until the advent of emulators in the late 90's. In a world without emulation, I likely would have been into this portable version of the game back in 2000. Let's see how it translated into a smaller-screen format. Many years before we had the fancy high-res phone version, we had this. Note: I'll be using Warrior and Quest interchangeably here when talking about the game, but I'm specifically referring to this as Warrior in the title because that's what it was called at the time.

Dragon Quest II (2014 Remake) Pt 2 - Desafinado

The two Gremlins can be a real challenge if you're underleveled, or they can be a glorified regular enemy fight if you're not. Either way you've gotta fight FOUR of them like a half hour later, so things aren't getting any easier.

Dragon Warrior (Game Boy Color, 2000)

That's right, we're going back to the Game Boy now. Seeing where portable games were at just a mere decade and a half before the HD Android ports. What a difference a few years can make. I've never played this one before so I'm looking forward to it.

Dragon Quest (iOS/Android, 2014)

I always have time for a quick run-through of the original Dragon Quest. This Android remake completely redoes the game's dialogue while revamping the graphics to the level of the Super Famicom DQIII remake. For a portable game, it's really well-done. It's still a fairly short game but you can get more out of it if you want to.

Dragon Quest XI - Magic Key Guide

When and where to use the Magic Key (red locked doors). This part of the game reminds me of Chrono Trigger's sealed chests/doors.

Dragon Warrior III Finale - The Odyssey

Bud Fox has used all his ill-gotten earnings on Wall Street to turn New Town into the towering metropolis of Budville. But will this, like all great empires, collapse under its own excesses?

Also, I kill Baramos and Zoma. Today on the JUMBO-SIZED finale of Dragon Warrior III.
